Nick Moen, co-organizer of The Democratic Cup, is a ceramic maker and designer that grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received a BFA from Alfred University. With a focus on food, drink, and light, Nick explores different ways to make models from pinching to 3D printing. Over the past few years he has focused on organizing dining events at restaurants with handmade tableware. He has participated in national group juried shows and travelled across the country showing his work at various venues. Nick currently maintains a studio practice in Asheville, North Carolina. He recently founded the Bright Angle Handmade Design Studio, a workshop for slip cast ceramic production that represents artists designing handmade objects..
